We cannot keep our freedoms from being taken away by sitting back and wishing it were not so. This election cycle we need to see victory for Republican candidates across the state. The distrust and discontent with our present elected government officials is not letting up and is growing more widely spread each day. We have been complacent for far too long. We are being ignored and we are being asked to willingly give up our freedoms. We have to provide a united front and push back. We need to elect the right people to office. Then we need to keep calling, writing, and checking on them to make sure they remain honest to the citizens who elected them and make sure they work for the good of our nation. As Republican women we are one of the principle keys and need to be out there leading the charge for the restoration of our great Republic. The place to start is with your local club. Your women have many talents and skills to help with the task before us. We do know that “Women In Numbers” can accomplish great things. Our voices will be heard. You need to reach out and increase your membership. Please remember when you bring in new members, you need to mentor them. Membership and mentoring go hand in hand. We need the wisdom and experience of our long time members and the strength and talents of our new members. By reaching out to the community, whether it be through Americanism, Caring for America, or Membership drives, we are getting our message out and helping our Republican candidates get elected. Donate your time and talents to the campaigns not only in your community but for the state-wide offices also. Together we can accomplish great things.
I know some of you are struggling. It is hard to watch what is being done to our great Republican and our Constitution. We need to stand firm. The members of the OFRW are among the most dedicated and hardest workers. You all make the state of Oregon very proud. Together we can! Together we will! Together nothing is impossible!
Ronald Reagan said “If you’re afraid of the future, then get out of the way, stand aside. The people of this country are ready to move again.”
We have work to do! God bless you and our Great Nation!

The Oregon Federation formally was organized in 1940 and affiliated with the NFRW that same year. The state has seven districts and 24 clubs.
The Oregon Federation had its beginnings in 1935 when Irene Gerlinger and Ella Allen Scott of Portland organized a women's political group, Republican Women of Oregon Inc. A month later, the group also organized under the auspices of Pro America, founded by Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt. In 1940, the group was approved to become a member of the NFRW and maintained membership in both organizations. By 1945, two more Republican women's groups had been founded. Ultimately, members from all three organizations wanted to unite the strength of Republican women to work "toward one goal, Republican victories in Oregon."
Today, members educate Oregon voters about Republican philosophy and help elect Republican candidates by volunteering countless hours to campaigns. The clubs participate in local community events such as parades and fairs. They provide scholarships, sponsor essay contests, and assist in food and clothing programs for the needy.
